What is osteopathy?
“Osteopathy is a first line medical practice (without medical prescription). It is defined as a diagnostic and therapeutic approach to functional pathologies of the musculoskeletal system and the peripheral nervous system. “
Like the 6-year university course, osteopathy in our centre aims to be up-to-date from a scientific research point of view.
Who is it for?
From infants to the elderly, osteopathy offers a therapeutic response adapted to each patient. It will therefore take into account :
- the age ;
- medical history
- the current medical treatment;
- tissue fragility (bone, ligament, muscle, neurological, etc.)
- the professional situation;
- the imaging examinations carried out;
- the patient’s possible reluctance to perform certain types of techniques;
- interactions with other health professionals and the treatment strategy that your multidisciplinary team will put in place (doctors, physiotherapists, midwives, chiropodists, dentists, etc.).
Reasons for consultation :
Indications are certain disorders of the locomotor system
- The back region :
o neck pain (herniated disc, arthrosis, narrow canal, minor intervertebral disturbance), and headaches of cervical origin (tension headaches, migraines)
o thoracic pain (between the shoulder blades)
o lumbar or sacral pain (lumbago, herniated disc, osteoarthritis, minor intervertebral disorder, etc.) - Neurological complaints
o Sciatica pain; cruralgia; cervical-brachial neuralgia (neck pain and symptoms in arm(s)); arnolditis; peripheral vertigo of mechanical origin, etc…
o pain and/or symptoms related to osteoarthritis of the various cervical, thoracic, lumbar, sacral segments (tingling, numbness, heaviness, electric shocks)
- Peripheral joints
o pain in the shoulder, elbow, wrist ;
o Hip, knee and foot pain (sprain sequelae; tendinopathy; joint or muscle pain).
o pain in the temporomandibular joint (jaw)
o arthrosis of various joints
o post-operative pain in various joints - Treatment of sportsmen and women:
o problems of the back or peripheral joints such as tendinopathies, postural disorders or technical gestures, etc. - Pregnant women and post-partum :
o Pregnancy-related pain (lumbar region, pelvis, coccyx, pubis, sciatic pain, gastro-oesophageal reflux, etc.) during the different trimesters.
o post-partum mechanical pain (pubis, coccyx, sacrum, lumbar region, etc.)

You do not need a medical prescription to consult a registered osteopath.
Mutual insurance companies reimburse part of the cost on the basis of the osteopathy certificate that I give you during the consultation.
